The Priapus Shot Or P-Shot®PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Penile Injection

Most men will tell you that their penis is the most important organ in their body. Of course, while this is not exactly true for everyday physiologic survival, the proper and reliable function of the penis plays a large role in intimate relationships. Difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection and concerns about the penile size, shape, and curvature, with or without pain, can affect one's self-esteem and create significant stress between partners.

Our bodies have a remarkable capacity to heal themselves. The natural production of stem cells accomplishes the regeneration of new tissue. PRP involves concentrated platelets, rich in bioactive proteins, which release growth factors to stimulate cellular regeneration and accelerate tissue repair. PRP benefits were initially used for wound healing, dentistry, and the treatment of sports injuries but have now evolved to address aesthetic concerns and sexual dysfunction (erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's Disease for men). PRP is one of the most advanced, effective natural treatments for cellular repair AND rejuvenation throughout the body.

What Benefits Can a Man Have from the P-Shot®?

  • Stronger, firmer erections

  • Easier to achieve and maintain erections (i.e., improved sexual stamina)

  • Increased penile length and girth

  • Improvement in or resolution of penile curvature from Peyronie's Disease

  • Resolution of penile pain with erection

  • Increased sensitivity in the penis

  • Better overall blood flow to the penis

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) for the P-Shot® is acquired through a relatively simple procedure. Here is an overview of the process:

Preparation: Before the procedure, a small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to a regular blood test. The amount of blood required is typically around 10-20 milliliters.

Centrifugation: The drawn blood is then placed in a specially designed centrifuge. The centrifuge spins the blood rapidly, causing the components to separate based on their density.

Platelet and Plasma Separation: The centrifugation process separates the platelets and plasma from the other blood components, such as red and white blood cells. Platelet-rich plasma contains a higher concentration of platelets than normal blood.

Platelet Isolation: Once the platelets and plasma are separated, they are isolated from the other blood components. This concentrated platelet-rich plasma is what is used for the P-Shot®.

Numbing and Injection: Numbing cream is typically applied to the skin where the injection will occur. A local anesthetic block is also performed on the penis to minimize pain.

Platelet Injection: The isolated platelet-rich plasma is injected into specific body areas with desired benefits. In the case of the P-Shot®, the platelets are typically injected into the penis to potentially enhance sexual performance, treat erectile dysfunction, or address other related concerns.

How Long Does the P-Shot® Procedure Take to Perform? The PRP injection should take about 60 minutes from start to finish, but we usually allow a little extra time. You may drive yourself home after the procedure.
