Summertime Skin - Quick easy steps.
For most of us, our skin is our prized possession and we make sure it’s protected and cared for in every possible way. With summer already at our doorsteps, some of us may have already invested in expensive creams and skin supplements, which is okay! But it is always wise and more effective if and when you follow a proper skin care routine.
Summer can be a challenging season for our skin. The scorching sun and the unbearable heat can cause considerable damage, while also depriving us of the glow and the softness. The increase in temperature also makes our skins oilier and more uncomfortable. To protect our skin from any more breakouts and damages, here’s a guide to a skin care routine that’ll protect your skin throughout this summer.
Summertime is also a great time for our specials.
Twice-a-day cleansing is a must
What are the two things that you cannot escape during summers? Sweat and an oily skin. While heat produces excess oil from the skin, sweat only makes it worse and even more uncomfortable, resulting in acne. To avoid such skin issues, you should foam-wash your face twice a day, i.e. morning, after you wake up and at night, before going off to sleep. This will help your skin breath and will keep it moisturized.
Exfoliate your skin frequently
Along with an oily skin, your summer skin can also suffer with dryness and dullness. This is why it becomes extremely necessary to exfoliate your skin with a face scrub or natural home remedy, like coffee grounds mixed with oil and sea salt. Not only will it remove all dry and dead cells from your pores, it will rejuvenate your skin and keep it healthier. However, make sure you do not over-exfoliate your skin, as it may lead to bruises and rashes. Once or twice a week will do the magic.
Revitalize with a refreshing toner
A toner is used to close all the open pores in your skin. In summer, the skin tends to produce a lot of oil that get accumulated in these open pores, which will also cause acne. This can be avoided with the help of refreshing toners. You can pick refreshing toners infused aloe vera or cucumber.
Apply a dual-purpose moisturizer
In summers, applying moisturizer and sunscreen separately, can be a bit too much for the skin. It can either lead to clogged pores or acne. However, one can use a lightweight moisturizer with an SPF of 30 or more, which will not only keep your skin protected but also keep your skin moisturized without any damage.
Protect your skin with some SPF
On a hot summer day, while you step outside to enjoy the sun and the warmth, make sure your skin is protected with a sunscreen. Sun rays can harm your skin to a considerable extent and also cause long-term damages. Make sure that you apply the sunscreen not just on your face but also on the exposed body parts.
Drink plenty of water and keep your skin hydrated
The most basic yet important skin care routine involves drinking lots and lots of water. While many spend huge sums of money on expensive serums or facial masks, the simplest and the most affordable thing to do, is to drink as much water as you can. Not only does it flush out all the toxins from your body, it also keeps your skin radiant and soft.
